The duo have made blockbusters like Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak to their credit and Sunny Deol is once again set to reunite with director Rajkumar Santoshi. The yet untitled project will go on floors next year. Deol said he can't talk much about the project at this stage but revealed it will be a powerful character-driven film, like the duo's previous collaborations. The actor, who has been busy with his films and also his son Karan Deol’s launch, has an interesting upcoming project with the director.
Rajkumar Santoshi has been keen on making a period drama on the Sikh warrior Fateh Singh.It was five years back when Santoshi had announced his period drama but the movie couldn't go ahead due to date issues. Now, the filmmaker has locked the final script and is making the Fateh Singh story with Sunny Deol in the leading role. Sunny Deol and Santoshi had been in touch for these past few years and reportedly worked on the script. Now, the final script has been locked and Sunny has agreed to star in it. Each of the films managed to establish Sunny as a good actor. He even won the Filmfare award for Best Actor and a Special Jury honour for the film at the National Awards while Damini bagged him Best Supporting Actor award at the National Awards.

The film will be produced by Tony D’Souza and Vishal Rana under their banner Echelon Productions along with Sajid Qureshi. It is expected to go on floor by the end of the year. The actor is currently tied up directing his son's debut Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas and awaiting the release of his next, Bhaiaji Superhit, scheduled to release on November 23. Sunny said directing his son is often a very emotional process but he can't let feelings overwhelm him. Sunny said juggling between acting in films and also directing the forthcoming project is 'tough' but he is enjoying it.
