Ranbir Kapoor responds to Vidhu Vinod Chopra's comment about casting Ranveer Singh in Sanju

Ranbir Kapoor is on a promotional spree for his upcoming film Sanju. The Sanjay Dutt biopic helmed by Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most awaited films of the year.

The film has been co-produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. However, did you know that producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had someone else on his mind to play the role?
According to a recent report, this person was none other than Ranveer Singh. In an interview, Chopra revealed that it was director Rajkumar Hirani's idea to cast Ranbir and he was unhappy with the decision. He alleged that Ranveer could have been a better choice and a perfect fit for the role because of his flamboyant personality, emotional depth and his ability to adapt and change into Dutt.He added that Hirani was firm about Ranbir and it was only after they began shooting that he realised that the director was right in his decision. He concluded by saying that Ranbir has become Sanjay both in "swagger and soul."

Director Rajkumar Hirani said in an interview today to a leading channel that he wanted Ranbir to play the lead as he is a fabulous actor.

In an interview today, Ranbir Kapoor reacted to Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s comment and said, “I don’t know about his regrets and anything of that kind. But I am really happy that it came into my life. And it came into my life when I was really in need of inspiration. You know. It’s a luxury that every actor finds inspiration in every film they do. This came with that. So, I am very happy that it came into my life.”
