Best Picture:
Bajirao Mastani
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Talvar
Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Piku

Finally we have 5 good movies competing for this award. Bajrangi Bhaijaan seems to be very deserving for it was able to strike a chord with the audience in India and Pakistan alike and was extremely touching.

Best Director:
Anand Rai - Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Kabir Khan - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Meghna Gulzar - Talvar
Shoojit Sircar - Piku
Sanjay Leela Bhansali - Bajirao Mastani

Kabir Khan is very deserving here and so is Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his beautiful piece of work.

Best Actor:
Amitabh Bachchan - Piku
Salman Khan - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Varun Dhawan  - Badlapur
Ranveer Singh - Bajirao Mastani
Ranbir Kapoor - Tamasha

Salman Khan is undeniably the best of them all and very deserving for this award. Varun and Big B were also great in their respective movies.

Best Actress:
Priyanka Chopra - Dil Dhadakne Do
Deepika Padukone - Bajirao Mastani
Kangana Ranaut - Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Shraddha Kapoor - ABCD 2
Deepika Padukone - Piku

Thank goodness we do not have Sonam Kapoor nominated for Dolly ki Doli like in Filmfare Awards 2016. We wonder if Anil Kapoor bought that nomination to please his daughter. Dolly ki Doli was one of the worst movies released last year and we all know how bad Sonam Kapoor's acting was in that movie. Filmfare needs to get its act together next year. We are glad IIFA has nominated Priyanka Chopra for her role in Dil Dhadakne Do. Shraddha Kapoor's nomination here is questionable. Deepika was brilliant in Piku so the competition seems to be directly between Priyanka and Deepika.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role:
Anil Kapoor - Dil Dhadakne Do
Irrfan Khan – Piku
Nawazuddin Siddiqui - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Deepak Dobriyal – Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Farhan Akhtar – Dil Dhadakne Do

Anil Kapoor and Nawazuddin are both deserving for this award. Irfan Khan is getting monotonous now and acts the same in most of his movies.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role:
Konkona Sen Sharma – Talvar
Priyanka Chopra – Bajirao Mastani
Anushka Sharma – Dil Dhadakne
Huma Qureshi – Badlapur
Tanvi Azmi – Bajirao Mastani

Why the hell is Shefali Shah not nominated here. Her performance was award winning in Dil Dhadakne Do.

Best Performance In A Comic Role:
Kapil Sharma – Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon
Nawazuddin Siddiqui - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Deepak Dobriyal – Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Kapil wasn't funny at all in his boring movie debut.

Best Performance In A Negative Role:
Darshan Kumar – NH10
Nawazuddin Siddiqui – Badlapur
Gajraj Rao – Talvar

Best Story:
Massimo Carlotto - Badlapur
K. V. Vijayendra Prasad - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Juhi Chaturvedi - Piku

Best Music Direction:
Roy – Amaal Mallik, Meet Bros Anjjan, Ankit Tiwari
Bajirao Mastani – Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Pritam Chakraborty

Bajrangi Bhaijaan nominated for music ??

Best Lyrics:
"Gerua" from Dilwale – Amitabh Bhattacharya
"Moh Moh Ke Dhaage" from Dum Laga Ke Haisha – Varun Grover
"Agar Tum Saath Ho" from Tamasha – Irshad Kamil

Best Male Playback Singer:
Papon for "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage" – Dum Laga Ke Haisha
Arijit Singh for "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" – Hamari Adhuri Kahani
Arijit Singh for "Sooraj Dooba Hain" – Roy

Arijit Singh is the favorite here to win the award.

Best Female Playback Singer:
Shreya Ghoshal for "Deewani Mastani" - Bajirao Mastani
Sunidhi Chauhan' for "Girls Like To Swing" – Dil Dhadakne Do
Kanika Kapoor for "Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan" – Roy
Monali Thakur for "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage" – Dum Laga Ke Haisha

Girls like to swing? And IIFA thinks that song was popular? Duh! Monali Thakur and Shreya Ghoshal are the deserving ones here.

We only hope that the best one wins.
