Mirzya is an epic action-romance set in contemporary times. The film unfolds filled with heightened drama & action packed sequences in the visually rich terrain of Rajasthan, contrasted with flashes of the fantastical universe of the folklore set in the awe-inspiring landscape of Ladakh.
This Movie is Inspired by the folk tale of the legend of Mirza – Sahiban and this is what the plot could be like:
Mirzya (Harshvardhan Kapoor) and Saheba (Saiyami Kher) are madly in love with each other. Mirzya is a master of Archery and Saheba belongs to a family of ruthless, revengeful and intolerant men. Saheba's brothers don't approve of her relationship with Mirzya and they try to get her married to someone else. Mirzya and Saheba elope from Saheba's house on her wedding day. Saheba's brothers chase them but they manage to flee and after reaching a safe place decide to take rest. Mirzya falls asleep and Saheba, worried that her brother will chase the and kill Mirzya if they find him with a weapon, decides to break Mirzya's bow and arrow when he falls asleep. Saheba's brothers reach the spot and kill Mirzya mercilessly. Saheba then commits suicide.
Watch the title track of Mirzya. It is beautiful. Daler Mehdi pumps in a lotta energy in this song.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Daler Mehndi revealed why he hardly sings for Bollywood movies now.
“I want to sing for Bollywood, but I can’t compromise on my respect. I am not the kind of singer who records a song that 10 others do too. I don’t like to be an option. If a song is meant for Daler Mehndi, only then will I sing it. I can’t sing for free, pay composers or woo them with gifts to get work. I can’t sing vulgar songs,” says Mehndi in a recent interview to Mid-Day.
Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra has made him sing the title song of Rang De Basanti and now he has given his voice to the beautiful title track of Mirzya...
“When I tried singing the alaap for the song, Gulzar saab, Shankar Mahadevan and Rakeyshji were in tears,” says Mehndi, whose upcoming projects include Dangal and Bahubali 2. “I like to take up tracks that other singers can’t even think of singing. In the last four years, so many singers have come and gone. My style of singing is my USP,” states Daler Mehndi in his interview to Mid-Day.
