Mirzya is directed by Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, the guy who made Rang De Basanti :) and Delhi 6 :( 

This will be the debut movie of Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor who is paired opposite Saiyami Kher.  Rakesh Om Prakash's Mehra's has directed movies like Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. At the same time, he has also made movies like Aks and Delhi 6. With a mix record of success, one thing is for sure, we can expect one of the best music albums of the year with this movie. Daler Mehndi's voice is magical in the title song clip.

The story of Mirza Saheba is quite interesting. It is one of the most tragic love stories from Punjab.

If the story of Mirzya is taken from the old folklore then this is what you can expect:

Mirza and Saheba are madly in love with each other. Mirza is a master of archery. Saheba's belongs to a family of ruthless men. They want to get her married to some other guy but Mirza decides to visit Saheba on her wedding day and carry her along with him. He does that. His brothers chase but both Mirza and Saheba manage to flee. After reaching a safe place, Mirza decides to take rest, Saheba is worried that her brothers will chase them and kill Mirza if they see him with a weapon. Saheba hides Mirza's Bow and Arrow while Mirza is asleep. Saheba's brother reach the spot. They find Mirza sleeping under the tree. They kill him mercilessly. Saheba commits suicide.
