India conducted its first underground nuclear tests on 18th May, 1974. The bomb was detonated on the army base, Pokhran Test Range (PTR), in Rajasthan by the Indian Army under the supervision of several key Indian generals. India's second nuclear test was conducted on May 11, 1998 at the same place. Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran is a film based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army's Pokhran Test Range in 1998.
The movie features John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani in the lead roles. Directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Zee Studio, JA Entertainment and Kriaj Entertainment, the movie is all set to release on December 8, 2017.
John Abraham, who plays the lead also happens to be the co-producer of the movie. John shared the poster of the movie on Twitter and captioned, "Embark on an extraordinary journey this December with @ParmanuTheMovie #ParmanuTheStoryOfPokhran @johnabrahament @kriarj".
