We did not include actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta etc because chances of us seeing them in movies again are very dim. We have also not included Kalki because she ain't a mainstream Bollywood movie actress but if she were to be here in this list, then she would definitely be in the Top 3 (replacing Alia Bhatt)

1. Kangana Ranaut:

She was born in a small town of Bhambla (now named Surajpur) in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. Her parents wanted her to become a Doctor or a Teacher, but she was a rebel. At a very early age, she decided to move out of her house to find her space and freedom. At the age of 16, she moved to Delhi. While in Delhi, she decided to pursue a career in modelling. The Elite Modelling Agency of Delhi signed her up and she worked for them for a short period. Modeling didn't interest her that much so she decided to change her stream and pursue a career in acting. Kangana Ranaut joined the Asmita Theatre Group, where she trained under the theatre director Arvind Gaur and acted in several of his plays. She decided take her career a notch up and relocated to Mumbai to make her mark in Bollywood  - The Biggest Film Industry in the World. This move of hers isolated her from her family. Her father was extremely upset when he heard that Kangana decided to enter the film industry in Bollywood. They cut off all ties with Kangana for a few years till the release of her movie 'Life in a Metro' in 2007. Kangana won the Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award (Female) in 2008 for this movie.

Kangana debuted with Bollywood movie Gangster in 2006 and waked away with all the major awards for her performance. She won Best Debut award at Filmfare, Zee Cine Awards, Star Screen Awards, Global Indian Film Awards, IIFA Awards and Stardust Awards.

After the success of Gangster, Kangana never looked back, she was praised for her role in Life in a Metro that was released in 2007. With her success in Bollywood, her family also reconciled with her. She made her parents proud by becoming a superstar in Bollywood.

Kangana Ranaut won her first National Award for Best Supporting Actress for 'Fashion' that was released in 2008.

She kept giving hits and winning awards but she  became a star that she is today only after the release of Queen in 2015. She portrayed the character of Rani so well that she found acceptance across the world for her stellar performance. Kangan won her 2nd National Award for Queen. In fact, she walked away with all the major awards for her role in Queen. Queen is one of the best movies in the history of Bollywood.

Post Queen, she acted in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and won her 3rd National Award for this movie.

Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in 2017 in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan which again promises to be an unconventional movie with stellar performances by the lead actors.

We don't care about her feud with a flop actor Adhyayan Suman or with Hrithik Roshan, who couldn't even keep his own house in order. Kangana is brave and she is a winner. She can silence her haters and critics with her success and she does it with so much ease and finesse. We love Kangana for what she is and wish her all the best for her career. She is light years ahead of all Katrinas and Sonams in Bollywood when it comes to acting skills. Keep entertaining us girl!

2. Alia Bhatt

She is the Chhota Packet - Bada Dhamaka of Bollywood. They say that all good things come in small packages. Ali Bhatt stands tall, not by her height (5 Ft 2 Inches) but by her acting skills.  She worked as a child artist in 1999 movie Sangharsh but her first movie as a lead actress was in 2012. It was titled 'Student of the Year'. It was a glamorous movie with little scope for acting. Alia Bhatt's next movie 'Highway' that released in 2014 showed her acting skills. She impressed us again with 2 States and more recently with her acting in Udta Punjab. In fact, we will not be surprised if Alia walks away with the Best Actress award for her role in Udta Punjab. She was flawless.

3. Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan comes in the league  of Kangana and Alia when we talk about acting skills. Her acting in Kahaani and Dirty Picture proved that she was a force to reckon with. She may not be slim, she may not be insanely gorgeous, but do we care? No. All we care about is how good she acts and what kinda roles she chooses to portray. She has not disappointed us so far. We only hope she continues to entertain us all with good movies.

4. Kareena Kapoor

When we think of Kareena, her role in Jab We Met comes to our mind. She made us laugh, she made us cry and she got us all engaged with her role in Jab We Met. She was "khud ki favorite" in that movie but later on she became ham sab ki favorite. She may not appear in many movies now, post her marriage to Saif, but we all know how talented Bebo is.

5. Priyanka Chopra

It was tough for us to decide who was a better actress out of Pryanka and Deepika, but we chose Priyanka Chopra for the kind of roles that she portrayed in her movies. Be it the role of a mentally ill girl in Barrfi or that of a struggling model in Fashion or the one of a boxer in Mary Kom, Priyanka has impressed us in all. She is undeniably one of the best actresses we have in Bollywood today.

6. Deepika Padukone:

She is the most beautiful actress in Bollywood today. Her grace, beauty and aura has mesmerized the audience. She is lucky that Sanjay Leela Bhansali casts her in all his movies, but it is disappointing that SLB doesn't give other lead actresses a chance. Repeating same actresses in all his movies makes them a bit boring. Deepika has recently started working in some interesting movies. Her acting in Piku, Finding Fanny and Chennai express was widely appreciated. She did well in Raam Leela and Bajirao Mastani too. We hope she acts in some offbeat movies and flaunt her acting skills now.

7. Anushka Sharma:

She has the Yash Raj banner ka Aashirwad on her head and gets to work in most of their major movies. She worked for Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan but that movie didn't create any buzz. She flaunted her acting skills in NH10 and we all loved it. We hope to see more of such acts from Anushka Sharma.

8. Aishwarya Rai

She may be ageing but she is still relevant. She will be seen in Karan Johar's next directorial venture. We have high expectations from Ash - the most beautiful woman in the world.

9. Diana Penty:

Diana made her acting debut in Cocktail in 2012 opposite Saif Ali Khan. She gained appreciation for her performance and her acting in Happy Bhag Jayegi looks good too. We have a dearth  of  good actresses in Bollywood and Diana can fill that void by acting in more movies. She has a lot of potential and we all hope that more filmmakers cast this talented lady in their movies.

10. Sonakshi Sinha:

This girl may be struggling with her weight and large body structure but we are impressed by her acting skills. Sonakshi was gorgeous in Lootera and portrayed her role so well. Hope we get to see her in more movies like that. This girl has a lot of potential. We are not sure if her heroics in Akira would be appreciated but it is anyay a 'Hat Ke' movie and we are glad that she is in it.

RATING NOT APPLICABLE:

1. Katrina Kaif: She is a pretty porcelain doll but that is all. She is adored by many for her gorgeous looks but nor for her acting skills.

2. Sonam Kapoor: She is busy putting other actresses down on her Twitter or flaunt her fashion, but will  that keep her relevant? NO! Bollywood is all about acting if you wanna stay relevant in the industry and sadly Sonam Kapoor fails miserably in that department. Neerja was a good movie but her acting was average. If only some other actress was cast, the movie would have been more entertaining to watch. It is the story that worked for the movie and not Sonam Kapoor. May she take that out of her head and join some acting classes to develop some acting skills in her.

3. Parineeti Chopra:  She is pretty but we have not seen her in movies that flaunt her acting skills.

4. Bipasha Basu: She is a good model and we love her horror movies.

5. Shraddha Kapoor: Baby please choose some better roles for yourself.

6. Jacqueline Fernandez: She performed miserably in preliminary interview at Miss Universe and failed to make it to Top 20 in the year that she represented Sri Lanka. She is beautiful but not talented in the acting department.
