The Queen of Bundi Wants Padmavati To Release

Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmavati is based on the life of Padmavati who committed Jauhar, a Hindu custom of mass self-immolation by women in parts of the Indian subcontinent, to avoid capture, enslavement and rape by foreign invaders, when facing certain defeat during a war.

Many people including the Rajput Karni Sena and some political leaders are against Padmavati's release as they believe it has an objectionable dream sequence between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji, played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh respectively. Queen Mayuri Singh of Rajasthan's Bundi on Saturday came out in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. According to reports, the Queen wants the movie Padmavati to release first as the director SLB has assured her that there was nothing demeaning in it. The Queen, however said that she will protest if Padmavati has any objectionable content in it.
