Sonam Kapoor to Inaugurate 'Neerja Bhanot Junction'

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and Yuva Sena Chief Aaditya Thackeray will inaugurate the Neerja Bhanot Chowk (junction) in Mahim, Mumbai. The junction is located next to Bombay Scottish School where Bhanot studied.

Sonam played the role of the late Pan Am air hostess in the movie Neerja. Interestingly, a junction named Neerja Bhanot Chowk already exists in Mumbai. Located at Ghatkopar east, this junction was inaugurated in the early '90s by Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Though no signboard exists today mentioning the name of the chowk, the locals still refer to the junction as 'Neerja Chowk'.
