Tamasha and Jab Harry Met Sejal, director Imtiaz Ali was abandoned by Bollywood and none of the big Bollywood actors wanted to work with him nor was any producer keen on backing an Imtiaz Ali film. Imtiaz saw a ray of hope in Shahid Kapoor, who is not counted among big stars of Bollywood. Another good news was that Sajid Nadiadwala agreed to produce his next directorial venture starring Shahid Kapoor.
