Priyanka Chopra in Astronaut Kalpana Chawla's Biopic

Kalpana Chawla was the first female astronaut of Indian origin to enter space. She lost her life along with 6 other crew members while re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.

Priyanka Chopra had recently established her own production company named Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP) with an aim to promote new talent and also produce small budget films.

Rumurs suggest our Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra will be co-producing an indo-American movie based on the life of astronaut Kalpana Chawla. Kalpana Chawla was born in Karnal, India on March 17, 1962 who later moved to the United States of Ammerica in 1982 to pursue a career in Aerospace. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1991 and joined NASA in 1995.

She died in the Space Shuttle Columbia in 2003 when it disintegratred while re-entering the Earth's atmosphere. She died along with other 6 crew members. Kalpana spent 31 days, 14 hours and 54 minutes in space
