We Indians keep our homes clean and streets absolutely dirty. This is a fact. Majority of Indians have this habit of throwing garbage on the streets without bothering about the consequences. We feel sorry for our countrymen who indulge in this shameful act. We feel terrible when we see educated and rich Indians throwing litter from the window of their posh cars. We feel sorry that we live in a nation where the government refuses to ban tobacco chewing and pan eating at public places. These two things make the Swachch Bharat campaign absolutely meaningless.
Few tricks do work if you want to stop someone from throwing litter. Once we were crossing the road at a signal and saw a rich man throwing litter out of his Audi Car. We knocked at his window and he politely opened it. We said "Your car is very beautiful". The man replied with a "Thank You". My friend told the man "Our roads will also look equally beautiful if you do not throw litter". The man felt terrible and was courteous enough to get out of his car, pick up the litter and put it back in his car. Try it out. This thing works.
