'Dhadak' Collects Rs. 8.71 Crores On First Day: Breaks Record Held By SOTY!

Karan Johar’s latest production venture Dhadak, which marked the Bollywood debuts of Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, collected a whopping amount of Rs. 8.71 crores on its first day at the box-office itself!

Taking to his Twitter page, an elated Karan Johar shared, “Glad to have our own record broken previously held by SOTY!! Thank you to all the beating hearts for giving this beating heart so much love!!!” From what we have heard, this opening day collection of Dhadak is highest for a film lead by fresh faces, thus beating Student Of The Year, which had collected approximately Rs. 8 crore on its first day.

The official remake of hit Marathi film Sairat starring Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru, Dhadak, which was directed by Shashank Khaitan, is produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.
