The battle between the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and Udta Punjab team has taken an ugly turn after the movie got leaked online ahead of its release tomorrow. We all know that the Censor Board was absolutely against the release of Udta Punjab, allegedly due to the pressure from political parties as the movie highlights the plight of people in Punjab involved in the drug menace.
Udta Punjab full movie has made it online ahead of its official release date i.e; 17th June 2016. The movie available online is obviously not a theater print because it hasn't been officially released in cinema halls. The copy available online is the one that was submitted to the CBFC for clearance and certification.
The pirated version of Udta Punjab carries a watermark that suggests the print (good quality) that was leaked came from the Censor Board (CBFC India). On the internet where the film is available for download and viewing online, the mm:hh:ss timer and the "For Censor" watermark clearly suggests that someone from the CBFC has leaked the movie online. However, it is for the police to investigate as to who is involved. One thing is sure for now that the Head of the Central Board of Film Certification - Mr Pahlaj Nihalani would be in major trouble for letting this happen.
Alia Bhatt has requestred her fans to watch Udta Punjab only in theaters.
Guys please please do not waste 2 years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears.. Please watch #UdtaPunjab in only in theatres..

The entire film fraternity has requested the audience to refrain from watching Udta Punjab on the internet.
