Actor Jisshu Sengupta has been a star in Bengali cinema for over two decades now, and has been foraying Hindi showbiz lately in the OTT space. He says he is proud of himself when he looks back at his journey, and feels blessed to be where he is today.

Jisshu made his acting debut through a Bengali TV series called "Mahaprabhu". He then made his big screen debut with "Priyojon". The actor made his Bollywood debut with Shyam Benegal's National Award winning film "Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero".

Over the decades, he worked with Rituparno Ghosh in "Abohomaan", "Noukadubi" and "Shob Charitro Kalponik". His work in Hindi includes roles in "Mardaani", "Barfi", "Shakuntala Devi", "Sadak 2" and "Durgamati".

Talking about his journey, Jisshu told IANS: "I am super happy. I don't think about it much but, yes, (to think) where I started and where I have come, I am really blessed to be here today. The kind of work I have done, the kind of people I met, the kind of directors have worked with… I think I am blessed."

"There are few actors who can actually say this. I have worked with Shyam Benegal, Rituparno Ghosh in Bengal and directors such as Pradeep Sarkar, Sujoy Ghosh, and Anurag Basu. I think I am proud of myself when I look back," he added.

He will next be seen in the web series "Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors". His next big screen release is "Thalaivi" starring Kangana Ranaut.
