Sultan is a sports-drama movie produced by Aditya Chopra, releasing under the YRF Banner and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Starring Salman Khan in the lead role, Sultan is scheduled to release on Ramadan Eid (July 6, 2016). The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Tyron Woodley.
The video of its first song ‘Baby ko Bass Pasand Hai’ was released yesterday. Farah Khan has choreographed Salman and Anushka after replacing Vaibhavi Merchant who had to quit due to personal commitments. Farah Khan is clear in her choreography as to what she means by ‘Bass’ in this song; and it has nothing to do with the musical range.
Jag Ghoomeya is one song that stands out in the album thanks to the beautiful voice of Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and a melodious composition by Music director duo Vishal-Shekhar. Jag Ghoomeya will definitely touch your heart. There is an interesting story behind this song. Arijit Singh had originally sung the song but it was removed from the Album.
440 Volt by Mika Singh is a peppy number and will not disappoint you at all.
Sultan title song by Sukhvinder Singh is a fierce high pitched song. Sachi Muchi sung by Mohit Chauhah is a mediocre & forgettable song. Bulleya by Papon is melodious. Tuk Tuk by Noorani Sisters & Vishal Dadhlani is a messy mix of folk and modern music. It is noisy and irritating and definitely one song that you can fast forward unless you have a liking for such annoyance.
Jag Ghoomeya female version by Neha Bhasin is equally melodious like its male version.
Rise of Sultan is a song that would probably look good on the big screen. It is not a song that you would want to just listen to without watching it.
While the first three songs are good, the others leave a lot to desire. Overall the music album is just average.
