Lekh Tandon
Born on February 13, 1929 Lekh Tandon was a Film and TV Director in India. He also acted in several movies. He gained national fame due to success of his directorial ventures Professor (1962 film), Prince (1969 film), Ek Baar Kaho and Agar Tum Na Hote. His films Amrapali starring Vyjanthimala and Agar Tum Na Hote with Rajesh Khanna in the lead role are considered as classics. Later after 2000, he had acted in movies such as Swades, Rang De Basanti, Chennai Express and Chaarfutiya Chhokare.
Lekh Tandon also helmed television serial Dil Dariya in 1988 through which he introduced Shah Rukh Khan. He died at the age of 88. He passed away on Monday at the age of 88 on October 15, 2017 at his residence in Powai, Mumbai.
He shared the 1978 Filmfare Best Screenplay Award for his movie, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye, with Vrajendra Gaur and Madhusudan Kalekar.
