Nostalgia

Either with their amazing cinematography or their fine storytelling these Bollywood movies that will give you itchy feet whenever you watch them. These movies will surely inspire you to go on a trip right now!

Talking of cinema, movies play such an important role in our lives that many times they unlock the door of many otherwise forgotten memories from our past. They connect with us at such an emotional level and quite often they mould our behavior and urge us to do something which we REALLY want to do. So, here is a list of 7 movies, which will tempt us to pack our bags and leave for our dream destination.

1. Tamasha

Tamasha sparked everyone’s ‘go anywhere, do anything’ fantasy, making it the ‘anywhere’ that everyone wants to be at. Each frame in this film is like a post-card, which made it the oh-so-perfect first time meet for Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s characters. The movie shows most of the Mediterranean island in its true glory- from its mountainous city streets and dense forests to glistening blue waters and rugged peaks. Add the scenic glory to the sizzling chemistry between Ved and Tara (Legit two strangers that meet in Corsica)… uff! I’m not packing my bags, are you? Okay…I may have considered buying a one-way ticket to Corsica.

2. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

ZNMD made sure WE went along on a road trip around Spain with Arjun, Kabir, and Imraan too. Like any other quit-the-concrete-jungle-and-go-travel sort of movies, ZNMD had its share of picture-perfect locations alright, but what set this multi-starrer apart is the experience that the movie takes us through. Deep sea diving, skydiving, the Tomatino festival and the Bull Run – do you need anything more to pack your bags and go on an adventure trip of a lifetime?

3. Queen

Other than Kangana Ranaut’s amazing portrayal of Rani, Queen takes us on a journey across Paris and Amsterdam. Not only did Rani spark a traveler in every young Indian woman, it made traveling solo less of a big deal for us too! The movie sure teaches you that there’s more to life than finding a life partner – like traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. Who wouldn’t want to bump into a Vijaylakshmi in Paris or share a room with Taka, Tim, and Oleksander in Amsterdam? Count me in!

4. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

YJHD is yet another blockbuster movie shot in some of the most stunning locations of Himachal, Rajasthan, and France. Though the movie doesn’t take you to a visual fest on these locations, but surely makes you believe that just like a journey our life too is full of pleasant and not so pleasant surprises and if we learn to take all that in our stride, we will surely have a fulfilling life. This movie reaffirms our believe that sometimes you get the humsafar of your life while you are travelling.

5. Dil Chahta Hai

The 2001 blockbuster, shot in Goa, Mumbai, and Sydney, still connects to the young audience big time. The first hour into the movie and you tell yourself, “This weekend I am off to Goa” and you might even text your buddies about it. The movie has not only captured some of the amazing locations of Sydney and Goa but has also beautifully portrayed the intertwining relationships. And who can forget the iconic scene of Akash, Sameer, and Sid at Fort Vagator?

6. Ek Tha Tiger

Super Salman makes an appearance in the list. Some of the beautiful locations like Istanbul, Kazakhstan, Cuba, and Havana make this movie an absolute treat. This movie will certainly pump your adrenaline up to the extent that your new mantra will be — One Life One Chance.

7. Bang Bang

Fast paced actions, great looking actors, awesome dresses and exotic locations… The movie takes you to all the places from Shimla, Mumbai, New Delhi to Abu Dhabi, Phuket, Greece, and Prague. As this movie presents the fun of Fly boarding, Sky diving and Formula 1 cars in the most thrilling way possible, all you got to do is call up your best buddies and take the next ticket out of your city to the adventure that awaits you.
