Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming Bollywood film Raees has hit yet another roadblock. Earlier Mahira Khan's exit brought the movie to a standstill as she could not finish her shooting due to a ban on Pakistani actors and now the Real Life Raees' son is causing some problem for the actor.
SRK's Raees is reportedly based on the life of Gujrati Gangster Abdul Latif who ran illicit liquor business in the state during the 90s when liquor was otherwise prohibited in Gujarat. Abdul Latif has allegedly murdered over 40 people and has several cases filed against him. So when SRK was to commence the shooting of Raees, he visited Gujarat to the gangster's son, Mustak Ahmed Abdul Latif Shaikh for an understanding of his character in the movie. Mustak was actively involved in making the film and provided insights and inputs for SRK to accurately portray the character of his father in this movie.
The problem occured when Mustake filed a case against King Khan demanding Rs. 10 crore to allow him to release the movie. SRK visited Mustak's house on his insisting. . However, his meetings with Mustak were being termed as political because of which Shah Rukh decided to distance himself. When Mustak sent out another invite to SRK, SRK did not respond which apparently is the reason that irked Mustak. And now he has sent a legal notice to Shah Rukh Khan to pay him Rs. 10 Crore for the smooth release of the film.
Raees is scheduled to release on January 26, 2017.
Let us all hope Raees is worth the hype that is being created around the film.
