November 14th, which marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, is celebrated as children’s day across India. Childhood is one great moment in everybody’s life. The annual event commemorated on November 14, on the birthday of India’s First Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. #1. Lakdi Ki Kaathi, Kaathi Pe Ghoda - Masoom: Lakdi Ki Kaathi song from 1983 film Masoom remains an insanely popular track even today. The song featured popular Bollywood personalities Urmila Matondkar and Jugal Hansraj as child actors along with Aradhana Srivastav. This song in voices of Gauri Bapat, Gurpreet Kaur and Vanita Mishra is a must at every kindergarten event or any other children’s gathering. Lakdi Ki Kaathi has attained a cult status over the years.
2. Nanhe Munne Bachche – Boot Polish: Sung in the voices of Asha Bhosle and Mohammad Rafi, Nanhe Munne Bachche is a classic song from 1954 film Boot Polish. The film is about a brother and sister pair who battle hardships to finally live happily with their adopted parents. This song has veteran actor David Abraham Cheulkar teaching the slum kids about self-respect and bright future. This song is widely a part of Children’s Day celebrations across schools in India.
3. Title Song - Taare Zameen Par: Undoubtedly, one of the best children’s movies is Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameer Par, released in 2008. The film’s tagline: “Every Child is Special”, gave out several important messages including parenting, a unique set of skills each child possesses and mentorship. The title track in the voices of Shankar Mahadevan, Dominique Cerejo and Vivienne Pocha is simply magical. It is everything that you need to hear on Children’s Day 2017.

Hum Bhi Agar Bachche Hote – Door Ki Awaaz: The lyrics of the song goes like Hum bhi agar bachche hote, Hum bhi agar bachche hote, Naam hamara hota Gabloo Babloo, Khaane ko milte laddu, Aur duniya kehti happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you. It is sung by Mohammad Rafi, Asha Bhosle and Manna Dey from the 1964 film Door Ki Awaz. This Children’s Day song doubles up as a peppy birthday song.
5. Re Mama Re Mama - Andaz: This song by Mohammed Rafi from the Andaz by the great music directors duo, Shankar- Jaikishan composed music together.
