Mumbai is a city of dreams esp for the thousands of Bollywood aspirants who come here to make a career in the world's largest film industry. While some dreams are fulfilled, most are shattered, yet people struggle and spend most of the crucial years of their life struggling in this city to get a break in Bollywood.
Bollywood rewards only those who have that X-Factor and talent that the world wants to see. With my experience interacting with the Bollywood aspirants, I have come across three types of people; the 1st one belong to the 'Talented Lot'. They struggle for sometime but do get noticed because of their talent and make it big sooner or later. The 2nd type is called 'Living in a Fool's Paradise' type, sadly almost 97% of Bollywood aspirants belong to this category. These people don't do a reality check, they do not take criticisms or honest opinions. They are the ones who have been falsely praised by their friends or family members & those idiotic praises showered upon them actually convinces them to travel to Mumbai. They eventually end up losing their time and money. The 3rd type is for the 'The Unfortunate Ones'. People in this category are immensely talented but fail to make a career in Bollywood because of financial or family constraints. Google India's latest ad titled 'The Hero - A Bollywood Story' is about a man who belong to the third type of Bollywood aspirants.
'The Hero - A Bollywood Story' is directed by Amit Sharma and Produced by Chrome Pictures. It stars Nandu Mahadev & Vicky Kaushal. Vicky was nominated for his role in Masaan last year. The story of this ad is very simple but the story telling is brilliant. The plot revolves around a family of 3. Mother tells her son that his father wanted to be a Bollywood actor and had gone to Mumbai to make a career but had to come back even after bagging a role in Sholay. Son vows to fulfill his Dad's dream and surprises him at the end.
There are so many moments in this ad that will make your cry. Music by Clinton Cerejo touches our heart. Chal Baawre song fits in perfectly here, and it has been beautifully sung.. This is what we call Creativity. This ad is inspirational for all those talented Bollywood aspirants out there. It is not easy to get into Bollywood but you need to at least Try. Struggle is just a small part of something big. This ad will also inspire us all to experience the joy of fulfilling the dreams of our loved ones. Good job Google!
