The 2017 Awards season has just begun and Zee Cine Awards was the first one this time around. The award turned out to be nothing but mere joke where talented actors were ignored and Varun Dhawan was given the award for Best Actor. We know realize why Aamir Khan and Kangana Ranaut do not attend such award ceremonies. Kangana Ranaut recently slammed awards ceremonies, saying how she lost out on an award, because she was stuck in traffic. Zee Cine Award has lost all the credibility by awarding Varun Dhawan with the Best Actor award.

Varun Dhawan walked away with the best actor award for Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya. Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Again won the Best Film award. Rohit Shetty said when accepting the award, "I didn't expect this award."

Outstanding performances by actors in Lipstick Under My Burkha, Secret Superstar, Trapped, Newton, Hindi Medium, Kaabil and Bareilly Ki Barfi were royally ignored. Rajkummar Rao who has shown us his brilliant acting skills in several movies this year received an "Extraordinary Impact" award as a consolation prize.
