Karni Sena has threatened to burn down theaters that dare to release SLB's Padmavati in the United Kingdom.

Karni Sena continues its violent opposition to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Karni Sena. After its threat to Deepika Padukone, it has now warned British theaters. After news broke that the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has certified Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ and cleared it for release in the UK, the Karni Sena has come forward to issue further threats, claiming that they’d burn down any theatre that screens the film, even if it’s in the United Kingdom.

“Har wo theatre jalega, jahan Padmavati ka show chalega (Every theater screening Padmavti will be burnt),” said, Sukhdev Singh, a leader of Karni Sena to Republic TV. "I myself wanted to go there to protest but the Indian government has confiscated my passport, so I will ask the Rajput community there to protest", he added.

The makers of Padmavati have stated that even though the BBFC has cleared Padmavati for its release in the United Kingdom, they will only release the movie abroad once it gets clearance in India. Padmavati was scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, but it was returned by the CBFC. The new release date has not yet been announced as it is waitinf for CBFC clearance.
