Hero Indian Super League 2016 is the third season of the Indian Super League, the football league. The season features eight teams again, each playing 14 matches during the regular season before culminating with the finals.

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt performed at the opening ceremony of ISL 2016. Varun danced on hit numbers like "Tukur Tukur", "Sau Tarah Ke", "Munn Ma Emotion Jaage". Alia joined him on the stage and they both danced together on "Kudi Saturday Saturday" from their movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
