Size does not matter here as an illustrious jury comprising Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Gauri Shinde, Vidya Balan and Aanand L Rai have shortlisted these 44 short films for Filmfare Short Film Awards 2017 Nominations.
The dimensions of the Filmfare Short Film Festival in association with Facebook aim to support and encourage the young filmmakers of India. The section will showcase short films (of 20 mins or less duration) made by filmmakers.
Does size matter? Certainly not when it comes to entertainment. Short films, once a niche product more suited for the festival circuit has currently taken over the Internet and how. Thanks to the genre's ever increasing popularity, all kinds of filmmakers, ranging from no-name directors shooting with their smartphones to established players wanting to say a new thing have hitched their wagon to this rising star. Filmfare, which has always prided itself on spotting the latest trends and new talents has decided to start a digital short film festival primarily aimed at first timers.
