Popular American website Looper has recently released a list of top martial artists across the globe and Vidyut a part in the coveted list. Vidyut Jammwal is the only Indian to have made it to this prestigious list.

Looper, a coveted platform in the US, recently released a list of top martial artists across the world. Vidyut Jammwal is the only Indian to be featured in this prestigious list, among the top six. Speaking to Mirror about this unique achievement, the actor admits it’s a matter of great pride. “I’m humble enough to know that I’m not better than anybody, and wise enough to know that I’m different from the rest. Kalaripayattu is what gives me this belief,” he asserts.

He was born on 10 Dec 1980 in Jammu, India. He has one of the three siblings born in an Indian army officer home. For years, he lived in various parts of India due to his father frequent transfer in the army. Ill-advisedly his father died in the army war when he was very young and then raised by a single mother. He was relentlessly trained since he was three years old and from then he was trained in martial arts from an ashram in Palakkad, Kerala which is owned by his mother until he was 13. His mother is also a former Miss Jammu & Kashmir. After earning a gradation in martial arts, Vidyut toured all over the world where he trained with other martial artists.

He was ever since a model in Delhi but after a miserable profession in modeling, he got his first debut film in Telugu called ‘Shakti’. Till then he did a various role in Telugu and Tamil movies. Actor in the list of top six martial artists in the world; promises to wow in his upcoming family-adventure, Junglee Pictures’ Junglee, with the use of seven unique weapons.
