Aamir Khan was supposed to play Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma. He even gave his confirmation for the film that was tentatively titled 'Salute'. Knowing that Aamir is a perfectionist and doesn't settle for mediocrity, he walked out of the movie citing creative differences with the film's crew. Salute happens to be the directorial debut of Mahesh Mathai where Priyanka Chopra was to play his wife.

Now that Aamir Khan is officially out of the movie, rumour has it that the makers have approached Shah Rukh Khan for the role. So if SRK comes on board, can we expect to see SRK-PeeCee together in ‘Salute’ if not in ‘Don 3.

Aamir, who is currently shooting for Thugs Of Hindostan in Thailand, was expected to start working on Salute in January, next year. Aamir was last seen in Secret Superstar that released in Diwali.
