Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Ittefaq took a very slow start, but picked up in the evening on Day 1. Considering that Ittefaq was made on a low budget of Rs. 14 Crore and with little spending in promotions, it won't be difficult for the movie to recover it cost. Ittefaq opened with low collections of around 10-15% and was second to Thor - Ragnorak which taken a good opening of around 25-30%, double the collections of Ittefaq.

According to box office India, "The low cost ensures that recovery is there even if nothing much happens theatrically but eventually the film has to watched and liked by the audience and only then does something come out for the film be it the actors or director."
