To do complete justice to the script of Padmawati, Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has turned his Padmawati Set into a replica of Chittogarh Fort. To make this possible, Bhansali used Rajasthani Paintings and 400 Earthen Lights for the 'Ghoomar Song' featuring Deepika Padukone. The song is said to be the highlight of this film. Deepika Padukone had to go through a rigorous 1 month training to learn the dance. The song will have local Chari dancers along with Deepika Padukone.

As per reports, Alauddin Khilji tries to conquer Chittogarh after falling in love with Deepika Padukone. This being a one sided love, Deepika Padukone commits suicide by burning herself the moment she realizes that Chittogarh is going to fall.
