Sachin - A Billion Dreams started off pretty well with Rs. 7 Crore Nett business in Hindi language. For a movie that is supposed to be more of a documentary/drama, these collections are considered to be excellent for Day 1.

The film also released in Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English which should take the all India business towards 8 crore nett or maybe even a little higher.

Cricket fans and esp those who worship Sachin Tendulkar have ensured a good start and the weekend business is also expected to be quite good.

According to BoxOfficeIndia, the other movie released with Sachin, i.e; Pirate Of The Caribbean - Salazar's Revenge, also did pretty well as it grossed around 4.25 crore nett on day one in all languages. The last film Pirates Of The Caribbean - On Stranger Tides had grossed 3.25 crore nett on its first day so its a decent 30% improvement on that film. The opening is the third best for Hollywood in India after Fast & Furious 8 and XXX - Return On Xander Cage. While on Hollywood, Baywatch looks set to be a huge flop in the States and this film will be released in India next week and a lot of PR is being done to build hype in India due to the presence of Priyanka Chopra but the results are likely to be no different.
