The fight between Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor and his neighbours just got worse.

The fight between Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor and the members of his neighbourhood society in Pali Hill, Mumbai seems to be getting worse. Rishi Kapoor has threatened to sue his neighbours for character assassination. It all started after the members of the society filed an official complaint against Rishi Kapoor stating his redevelopment project at his Pali Hill bungalow was being illegally done and that he needs to immediately stop his construction work. The actor has now hit back at the members with a defamation case stating he will ‘sue’ everyone for defaming him by slapping wrong allegations.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, Rishi has decided to drag everyone to court as he confirmed, “I have already spoken to my lawyers and will be filing a defamation suit against the society for defaming me and doing character assassination. I am a law-abiding citizen and went through the grind like others to obtain permissions. We are aware of recent builder’s interest in Daffodils. But these are conjectures until proven.”

However, the members of the society are now claiming the letter was sent without their consent, by the secretary of their society. They are even pleading to Rishi to not take matters to court by assuring they will protest against the chairman and the secretary of the society. In fact, Moti Khanna, the resident of the society who was given the task of doing the survey of the land too stated in defense, “All this was cleared long ago when Rishi Kapoor bought the bungalow. There were some issues and he had written twice to the society to sort out the issues. No one replied at that time then why is the society objecting now when he has started the construction? I myself had surveyed the land and he is only using the part of the land which rightfully belongs to him.”

The complainant letter had stated that according to a 1980 agreement between Kapoor, wife Neetu, and the promoters of the society, only part of the 5,035 square metre land housing the society building and Kapoor’s bungalow was sold to him, but he has taken another portion of the land which the society jointly holds, without informing or consulting its members. “You merely hold a membership in the society and have no right, or title in the land,” the letter states, before alleging that Kapoor showed himself to be the owner of the whole property of which his bungalow was only a part.
