Bollywood actor Rakhi Sawant on Wednesday filed a 25 paise defamation suit against Tanushree Dutta for allegedly hurting her reputation by making "unwholesome" and "deeply derogatory" statements. She claimed that Tanushree spoke in derogatory fashion about her during an interview with a television channel where she accused actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on a movie set in 2008. In her suit, filed at a civil court in suburban Malad, Sawant said she has been part of the film industry for two decades and made a "promising career and name for herself".

The notice goes on to say that Tanushree attacked Rakhi out of 'sheer jealousy as she had been getting regular work since the last two decades now, whereas due to the embarrassment of not getting adequate work as an actress, the defendant had left the country and given up on acting'. Rakhi has asked for 25 paise in damages from Tanushree. After Tanushree Dutta slammed Rakhi Sawant for belittling her #MeToo experience on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008, a war of words between the two actresses ensued. Rakhi called Tanushree a liar and a drug addict, to which Tanushree responded by slapping a Rs 10-crore defamation suit on her.

Rakhi went on to hold a press conference, in which she accused Tanushree of raping her multiple times 12 years ago. She also called her a 'man from the inside' and a lesbian. Rakhi also claimed that Tanushree was her best friend back then and took her to rave parties where she forced her to consume drugs. Over the past month, ever since Tanushree Dutta said that she was sexually harassed by Nana Patekar on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss, Rakhi Sawant has slammed Dutta several times.

Tanushree Dutta was replaced by Rakhi Sawant for the special song that the former was shooting for for Horn Ok Pleassss.
