Having earned Rs 144.51 crore in its first week, Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 is doing reasonable at the box-office. The film, directed by Remo D’Souza, added Rs 6.30 crore more to its kitty on Thursday to reach this total. Race 3 had a big fall on its second Friday as collections are looking to be in the 5-5.50 crore range. The film is looking at a drop of 40-45% from the previous day. The film now has minimal chances of becoming a BLOCKBUSTER now, as it needed a 5 crore nett second Friday which would have given it a chance to reach a share of over 90 crore. Now the film will have to settle for a much lower lifetime figure. The collections could come out a little higher on Monday but it will be a few lakhs and that will not make much of a difference.

Race 3’s business for the first week hasn’t been at par with that of Salman’s other films released in the past couple of years. In terms of first-week collections, it is far behind films Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Kick. It remains to be seen how the film jumps on Saturday but it could be less than the normal second Saturday as the film has not been appreciated.

The Hollywood film Incredibles 2 has done pretty well and could notch up a higher number than Race 3 at around 4 crore nett which is good for an animation film in India.

Bankrolled by Salman Khan Films and Tips Films, Race 3 also casts Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem in the lead roles. It hit the screens on June 15 and was mostly rejected by the critics.
