Pakistani Model Qandeel Baloch has been murdered, allegedly by her own brother in Green Town, the outskirt of Multan in Pakistan. She was strangled to death during her sleep. According to media reports, Qandeep Baloch's father informed the police that his son strangled her to death. Her murder is the most high profile case of honor killing in Pakistan. The numbers of 'Honor Killings' have risen sharply in Pakistan. Last year, 1,096 women and 88 men were killed in 'honor' crimes in Pakistan, according to reports.
The murder took place when Qandeel was sleeping at her house in Muzaffargarh, her parents said in a statement recorded to the police. Her parents were sleeping on the rooftop. There were no signs of bleeding and she seemed to have been strangled to death, CPO Multan said. Her body will be sent for a postmortem.
Qandeel Baloch was planning to settle down abroad after Eidul Fitr, citing security threats in the backdrop of her recent scandal with Mufti Abdul Qawi as the reason. Qandeel Baloch had been frequently posting semi-nude selfies on social media sites.
Qandeel was rumored to be one of the contestants of an upcoming Indian Reality TV Show Bigg Boss 10.
