Soon after Pakistani cinema owners decided to stop the screening of Bollywood movies, Bollywood producer Ritesh Sidhwani chose to oust Pakistani actress Mahira Khan from his upcoming Bollywood movie Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Mahira was to make her Bollywood debut with this big budget film ended up becoming the first casualty of the current stand-off between India and Pakistan. According to a report in the DNA Newspaper, Mahira Khan was ousted from the movie because of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. A hunt is now on for a Bollywood actress to feature opposite King Khan.
Mahira Khan currently works in Lollywood, Pakistani version of Bollywood based in Lahore, though most of their movies are now shot in Karachi.
Mahira made her debut with Shoaib Mansoor's award winning film 'Bol' in 2011. No she wasn't the talented lead actress who we all adored in Bol. Mahira played the role of a supporting actress (The one who falls in love with Atif Aslam).
Mahira Khan was married to Ali Askari but their marriage didn't last long. Mahira Khan currently works in a Pakistani TV Drama called 'Bin Roye'.
