Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has opened extremely well at the box office despite the big clash with Ajay Devgan starrer Shivaay. The initial is around 35-40% on average which is actually good if you consider its pre Diwali. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is being led by the high end multiplexes and some of these even managed to take a 50% start. The MNS protest warnings didn't seem to have affected the crazy fans who flocked in to the cinema halls to watch Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

On the other hand, Shivaay has taken a much lower opening performance at around 25% as its business in multiplexes across India is way lower than Karan Johar's ADHM.

Let us hope that the movies are not affected by piracy as we have seen several blockbuster Bollywood full movies appearing on Torrent sites for download or to watch online.
