Sridevi starrer Mom had a slow start but due to good word of mouth, the movie is slowly pick up pace. he film collected Rs 2.52 crore on Monday. After a sluggish start on the first day, Mom picked up growth over the weekend. It's total collection stands at Rs 16.92 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest figures and wrote, “#Mom Fri 2.90 cr, Sat 5.08 cr, Sun 6.42 cr, Mon 2.52 cr. Total: INR 16.92 cr. India biz.” Taran added that MOM’s Monday business was better than Friday. “#Mom *footfalls* on Mon are higher than Fri since ticket rates are reduced… Effectively, it’s more than opening day in terms of occupancy.”
The film has some of the best actors from across the border as well. Sajal Ali, who plays a rape victim in MOM has also played a similar role in Pakistani Drama Gul-E-Rana. In that serial she is dominated by her abusive and possessive husband Adeel. She had even won an award for her portrayal of Rana in that series. The film was praised for director Ravi Udyawar’s execution but it was Sridevi’s heart-wrenching performance that pulled people to the theatre.
