Marcelito Pomoy was born on September 22, 1984 in Bislig City - Philippines. When Marcelito was 2 years old his father was jailed and his mother left him with his 2 month old sister. Marcelito was later adopted by a police officer. His mother moved to Manila and years later both his biological father and mother had separate families on their own.

He discovered his extraordinary voice while doing a poultry work: singing in both a male tenor voice and a strikingly convincing female soprano voice. He shot to fame with his appearance on Philippine's Got Talent Season 2 in 2011. At the course of his Philippines Got Talent stint, he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream to reunite with his family. During the same TW interview, Pomoy recounted how the night of his win paved the way for the reunification of his family. While their reunion was a momentous event for all of them, he admitted that this development would not entirely mend their long-broken familial ties.

He effortlessly performed his rendition of “The Prayer” during the Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 Grand Finals Night. He was declared the grand champion of “Pinoy’s Got Talent (PGT)” Season 2. Marcelito was dubbed as “a Man with a Golden Female Voice”.

Pomoy makes regular appearances on ASAP, and his first studio album, entitled Duet Yourself, was released in 2011 under Star Records. There were rumours about his sexuality but he confirmed being absolutely straight. On September 21, 2014, Marcelito Pomoy married Joan Paraiso.
