Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala has been missing from the Bollywood radar for quite some time now, yet she commands a good fan following and people are anxious to see her back in mainstream Bollywood. She proved her acting skills in movies like Bombay, Khamoshi, Agni Sakshi, 1942 Love Story and Dil Se.

The last time she was seen in a decent hindi movie was in 2001. She had an important role in Rajkumar Santoshi starrer Lajja and was appreciated for her performance. She later appeared in Escape from Taliban in 2003 but the movie didn't do well at the box office.

Post that her career went from bad to worse and there was a reason behind that; her health. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 She had no clue about the disease until she was hospitalized in Kathmandu due to extreme illness. She flew to the USA for her treatment. As of 2 May 2015, she has been cancer-free for two years. After fighting cancer and winning the battle, she is actively involved in spreading the awareness about the disease
Manisha Koirala got married to a Nepali businessman, Samrat Dahal, in 2010 but the couple divorced in 2012.

Manisha Koirala will be seen in Sunanina Bhatnagar's upcoming movie titled 'Dear Maya'. She will be playing the role of an elderly woman in the movie and seems like she has opted for a very challenging role this time. She has been shooting for the movie in Shimla and Delhi. The movie is scheduled to release in 2017, however no official date has been announced.
