Be it playing Sita in "Siya Ke Ram" or Maa Lakshmi in her latest serial "Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi: Kahani Mata Rani Ki", Madirakshi Mundle enjoys being a part of mythological shows.

Be it playing Sita in "Siya Ke Ram" or Maa Lakshmi in her latest serial "Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi: Kahani Mata Rani Ki", Madirakshi Mundle enjoys being a part of mythological shows.

However, the actress, who is a believer of Vaishnodevi in real life, points out why one has to be careful with such shows. One cannot show anything fake or fictional in mythological shows, she avers.

"Whatever is shown in these shows is not fake or fiction. You have to show the reality because everybody knows mythological stories. So, you cannot show anything fictional or wrong," Madirakshi told IANS.

Highlighting on the high TRP that such shows enjoy, she added: "People enjoy watching this kind of shows. These shows highlight our faith, our traditions which everybody should know about. These days there are so many mythological shows on television, all of which enjoy a good TRP because people are interested in such shows, they want to watch these."

Talking about Star Bharat's upcoming mythological series, "Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi: Kahani Mata Rani Ki", the actress shared: "Vaishno Devi is revered by all. Matarani never lets her devotees emptyhanded, and always fulfils their wishes. This show is based on her miracles, (and depicts) where she descended on earth and why she chose to do so, and how she destroyed all sin. I feel lucky to have got a chance to play Maa Lakshmi on this show"

The actress, who has earlier worked in daily soaps like "Siya Ke Ram" and "Jaat Ki Jugni", revealed being a devotee of matarani in her personal life. She had once observed a vrat for 11 years at a stretch.

Madirakshi said: "In our family everybody is a bhakt of matarani. When a child is born, the first thing they chant is Jai Mata di. I am also a believer. I have visited the Vaishno devi mandir barefoot. I used to observe a vrat for matarani every Friday for 11 years."

Shooting has started for "Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishnodevi: Kahani Mata Rani Ki", which will air on Star Bharat from September 30. Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt will reportedly play the narrator of the show while ladies heartthrob Milind Soman is in talks to essay Lord Shiva.
