Imtiaz Ali's next movie tentatively titled 'The Ring' will star Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Ranbir Kapoor will play a cameo in this upcoming Bollywood movie.
"There was a small role which Imtiaz wanted a strong actor to play. Between him and Ranbir, it is never an 'ask situation'. Imtiaz mentioned it to him and RK gave his nod. Ranbir can't say no to him,” Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
The story of 'The Ring' revolves around Anushka Sharma's character. She plays a free spirited tourist who falls in love with her Travel Guide (played by SRK) while traveling with him across Europe, looking for her lost engagement ring. Ranbir Kapoor will play her fiancé in the film.
Ranbir was earlier not a part of the movie but Imtiaz Ali was mighty impressed with Anushka and Ranbir's chemistry in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. He wanted a similar friendship and camaraderie to flow between Anushka's character and her fiancé's in the movie.
Ranbir Kapoor has not yet started shooting for 'The Ring' as he is currently busy shooting for 'Jagga Jasoos'. Ranbir intends to squeeze in time for this after he wraps up Jagga Jasoos and before he starts shooting for the Sanjay Dutt-biopic with Rajkumar Hirani.
'The Ring' is scheduled to release on August 11, 2017. It will clash with Akshay Kumar starrer 'Crack, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
