Kerala Floods: Bollywood Comes Out To Support Of The Victims.

As floods keep ravaging Kerala, Bollywood celebrities have taken it upon themselves to spread awareness of the situation and ask their fans to donate and support the victims any way they can. With rains still pouring down heavily leading to flooding of dams and rivers across Kerala, taking the toll to 79, since August 8.

The situation of floods in Kerala has been increasing as there seems to be no respite for Kerala citizens. The death toll has been rising with more than 94 people declared dead and thousands have been displaced living in Army shelters. Now, airlift operations have commenced at the Aluva and Trichur districts of the state. The state with the highest literacy rate and known for its scenic back-waters, Kerala, is facing the wrath of nature. Continuous rains have resulted in flood across 14 districts of Kerala and have left many people homeless. The situation is getting worse and the locales have been badly hit by the unforeseen calamity, about 97 people have already lost their life due to the same.

While donations have begun for the people who have lost their homes in the flood, Bollywood celebs have come out in support of the victims. Though the situation is set to get worse and rains will continue till Saturday, according to Indian Meteorological Department, south-western winds are blowing from the Arabian Sea at 35-40 km per hour and water levels are rising. In fact, the authorities at the Kochi airport have reportedly shut down all operations till August 26. Bollywood celebs like John Abraham, Arjun Kapor, Shraddha Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan as well as south Indian stars like Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, and many others have come in support, urging fans to donate to those affected by the floods. Celebrities are supporting those affected by the massive floods and also urging fans to donate money towards them.
