Karni Sena has been violently opposing the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati and until now they were totally against the release of the movie. However, the Karni Sena has now changed its stand. Shri Rajput Karni Sena said if the royal family of Mewar find nothing objectionable in 'Padmavati', protests would be withdrawn. So far, the Shri Rajput Karni Sena has been insisting that the film should be screened before its representatives.
Shri Rajput Karni Sena's change of mind comes 4 days after Arvind Singh Mewar, who is one of the direct descendants of the 14th century Chittor ruler Rawal Ratan Singh told media that he was ready to play the mediator between Padmavati makers and the Karni Sena if SLB so desired.
Padmavati was scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, however the movie has not yet been clared by the CBFC. The release date has been deferred. The new release date for the movie has not yet been announced. Many threats have been issued by organizations to Deepika Padukone. Deepika Padukone has kept her cool so far.
