Kapil Sharma's Firangi Gets A Poor Opening

Kapil Sharma has pinned his hopes quite high on his second major Bollywood movie as a lead hero.

Nothing seems to be going well for comedian Kapil Sharma. After the mid-air incident involving his fellow comedians, his career took a dip. His fellow comedians left him one after the other because of his arrogant behavior. Kapil Sharma claimed that he was solely responsible for the success of The Kapil Sharma Show or The Comedy Nights With Kapil and that only he had the power to make or break the career of Sunil Grover. Looks like Karma slapped him hard, really hard, for he had to shut down his show due to extremely poor TRPs. Had his show been a one man show, he would have had ruled the TRP chart and not had to shut down his show after Sunil Grover and other comedians exit.

Kapil Sharma's last movie left without a trace. Neither his acting was appreciated nor the movie as a whole package. Therefore Kapil Sharma really had high hopes on Firangi, but this movie of Kapil has performed even worse.

According to BoxOfficeIndia, "Firangi had a low opening of around 15% though collections were a bit better in the Delhi NCR and Punjab regions with aroun 20%. The last Kapil Sharma film had opened to very strong collections of 7.68 crore nett but that film was a comedy and fitted in with the image that the audience has of Kapil Sharma. Firangi is more of a drama and the trailers did not have much comedy which is probably a must for a Kapil Sharma film due to the image created on television."
