Rohit Shetty's Diwali gift to Bollywood fans, Golmaal Again, has become the highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2017. If we exclude the Hindi dubbed Bahubali 2: The Conclusion, Raees was the hgihest grossing Bollywood movie of 2017 till Diwali, but post the release of Golmaal Again, Raees has got down to the number 3 spot.
If we exclude Bahubali - The Conclusion and it is also by far the highest grosser of the year with it being around 75 crore nett better than the next best film Raees. Golmaal Again has also has emerged the highest grossing comedy film of all time by a distance beating the numbers of Ready in 2011. According to Boxofficeindia, "Even if you go by inflation adjusted figures then Biwi No.1 in 1999 was the highest grossing film with around 183 crore as per 2016 ticket rates and considering GROSS ticket rates have hardly gone up this year then Golmaal Again will be more than Biwi No.1 on 2017 ticket rates. This is nt counting films released befoe 1994."
Golmaal Again grossed ₹200 crore after four weeks of its release in indian box office. The film grossed US$3 million in its first weekend in overseas. The film grossed $160,000 in Nepal, $400,000 in Pakistan in the first weekend. The worldwide collection of the film is ₹300 crore in its fourth week
