Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway wrongly announced Damien Chazelle's musical 'La La Land' as the winner of the Oscar for Best Picture, and later called on stage the team of 'Moonlight' to accept their award.

Hollywood's biggest night, the 89th Academy Awards ended on a rather dramatic note after presenters Warren Beatty and Fay Dunaway wrongly announced Damien Chazelle's musical 'La La Land' as the winner of the Oscar for Best Picture, and later called on stage the team of 'Moonlight' to accept their award.

It wasn't until the makers of 'La La Land' along with the cast and crew walked up on stage to accept the award and were midway through the acceptance speech that they were interrupted by the veteran actor to announce that there was a mistake. Warren walked up to the microphone with the winner's card in hand and displayed it to the cameras while stating that Barry Jenkins' film 'Moonlight' was the in fact the winner.
