Amidst heightened tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will not be seen promoting his upcoming Bollywood film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Amidst growing tension between two neighbours and the war hysteria being created across both the sides of the border, an extremist party in India (MNS) gave an ultimatum to Pakistani actors to leave India in 48 Hrs. This led to the exodus of the Pakistani artists from India. Fawad Khan is back in Pakistan and has decided to remain there and not appear for any promotional events of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in India. According to a prominent producer-director, all Pakistani artistes have been asked to “stay home”. Karan had plans to have all his actors together promote his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, but it seems that the film will be promoted without Fawad Khan.

There is a strong lobby in Pakistan, primarily consisting of Pakistani filmmakers like Javed Shaikh and actor Shaan who are absolutely against the release of Indian Movies in Pakistani Cinema, possibly because they fear competition. Their TV Talk shows these anti-Indian artists spitting venom against India and Bollywood and campaigning for a Ban on Bollywood. It seems unlikely that their campaign will yield any results because the cinema industry in Pakistan is only flourishing because of Bollywood movies and a ban on Bollywood movies will end the business of cinema owners in Pakistan

Karan Johar's upcoming directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) is scheduled to release on October 28, 2016. The music of ADHM is already topping the charts. Fawad Khan plays a very important role in the movie that features Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Shah Rukh Khan will also have a small role in the movie. We expect even Kajol to appear in a song or two.
