Aamir Khan's Dangal was the most successful Bollywood movie of 2016, yet it was overlooked at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2017 nominations. The voting for IIFA, which goes through four to five stages has already begun and Aamir’s blockbuster ‘Dangal’ has been left behind and the reason behind it is that the makers of ‘Dangal’ did not file their nomination for IIFA.
According to reports, IIFA forms are sent to various production houses. They fill those forms up and send it back to IIFA. Those forms are then put out to the industry for voting and from there it becomes a nomination, but Dangal team did not send their entry. Though IIFA would like Dangal to be a part of it, it looks like the makers aint interested for IIFA Awards. Aamir Khan has never attended Indian Film Awards as he finds them biased.
IIFA Awards 2017 will be held in New York this year.
