The producers, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, have submitted the revised version of the application on November 28.

After being returned by the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial film 'Padmavati' will finally be viewed by CBFC this week. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. SLB was attacked during the shoot of the movie, while death threats were issued against Deepika Padukone by Karni Sena on national TV channels.

The producers, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, have submitted the revised version of the application on November 28. Padmavati was to release on December 1, 2017, however CBFC had returned the movie citing incomplete application.

According to the reports in media, the new application is very consciously worded in legalese, and the CBFC is trying to decode the various levels of claims and disclaims in the application about the historic authenticity of the film. This will take time, but the film will be viewed by the board’s Examining Committee in the coming week, and we will have to organise a panel of historians to examine the content.
