Veteran actor Om Puri passed away in Mumbai on Thursday evening. He was 66. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who was a close friend of the actor, first confirmed the sad news of his demise on Twitter. Puri returned home last evening after a shoot. Reportedly his door bell went unanswered on Friday morning, following which his driver raised an alarm.

Bollywood is mourning the sudden demise of this legendary actor.

Boman Irani tweeted "RIP Om Puri. We have lost one of our finest. A talent, A Voice, A Spirit. Will miss you Puri Saab."

Sonu Sood tweeted a while ago, "Om ji,u were the finest. Will miss u always.Thank u so much for giving me n the entire world such fond memories..love u sir. #RipOmpuri sir"

Director Kabir Khan was shocked to hear the news as he was on the sets laughing a few days ago and he stated that we have lost one of the greatest actors of our time.

Preity Zinta also mourned the demise of Om Puri.

Om Puri recently worked in a Pakistani movie and was a famous figure in Pakistan. Pakistani news anchor Hamid Mir paid his tribute to this great actor and stated that Om Puri will always be remembered for his efforts to support peace between India and Pakistan

Mahesh Bhatt was deeply saddened by the news and bid Om Puri a goodbye and stated that a part of him also goes with Om Puri today.

Shabana Azmi posted an emotional message, she tweeted, "Om Puri! You have left us all too early.. i am so so sorry..The fun the laughter the arguments so vividly etched in my mind..Will miss you."

Madhuri Dixit paid her respect to the deceased actor.

Many other Bollywood celebrities paid their respect to Om Puri.

Ritesh Deshmukh worked with the actor in two films also tweeted on his demise.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar posted a pic of him with Om Puri having a Tapri Chai.
